N97 keyboard - have your say
July 10th, 2009 at 10:37 am
Vaibhav Sharma (among many, many others) has voiced his opinion about the keyboard of the N97 over at The Symbian Blog, but now he’s opened it up for others.
His poll asks simply ‘Do you like the N97’s keyboard?’ - we’ll keep our eyes open for the results, meanwhile head over and cast your vote.

I bought my N97 on Monday. First impression of keyboard - terrible. However by Thursday I was becoming used to it. Overall, I give it a C+. Not enough pushback after I press down on keys. I type much faster on a Blackberry. I am getting used to location of space bar but I would have preferred it in the center as an North American user.

I agree with CrazyPhoneguy. The location of the space bar is gonna take a lot of getting used to. And due to the spacing of the lettering, I am a slower typer. The blackberry keyboard was much easier. I find myself using T9 for most part because it’s super quick and the feedback on the UI is pretty good. Still an awesome phone overall and I am SO glad I got it!

I think the actual feel and so on is fine, I can type no problem, and the space bar doesn’t bother me.
What *does* bug me though, is the stupid period (or full stop depending where you’re from) key. Which dick thought the period would be a good one to have as an ‘uppercase’ key? Great idea.
Apart from that, I’m good with it.
