The great N97 Twitter debate rages… Does size matter?
December 10th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
We had people weighing in yesterday from all over the globe on our N97 Mini Vs N97 debate.
We’re loving all this Nokia chat, but then, you guys will talk about just about anything. Case in point: yesterday’s lengthy discussion on the worldwide availability of Cherry Coke. Apparently it’s not sold in South Africa, India or Austria… who knew?
Anyway, we digress. The ‘mini’ seems to have come out on top in our debate (it’s official: size does matter). Here are some of your replies:
@s60Betalabs: N97 Mini is better. We know the law. “Big Things Comes in Small Size”
@MobilePresse: Nobody would have bought the original if the mini would have been announced earlier.
@clintonjeff: N97 Mini! Cause size does matter ?
@kiphakes: Both are underpowered and not worthy of a flagship title. *(Does the N900 meet your expectations then, Kip? Tweet us your thoughts)*
@not_al: N97. Better battery, bigger screen, more storage.
@gregg003: Mini of course, I haven’t tried the N97 yet so it’s a sensible choice. Haha!
@rwishi: N97 Mini. Cause good things don’t always come in big sizes
So there you have it - fairly conclusive stuff. We definitely recommend that you take a look at the above Twitter pages, and that everyone follows each other. That way you don’t even need us to chat about Nokia, global soft drink availability and whatever other random thoughts happen to pop into your heads.
Of course, we’ll still always be here if you do want us @womworldnokia

I have the N97 but have to pick the N97 mini - Keyboard is better - it has more C: and from the ones I have played with seems a damn sight faster too

cola? Hmm. I’ve been using the n97 now for about a month and commong from the n95 feels like a leap with the keyboard and touchscreen. You just get better connectivity. The downside so far has been the lack of cut n paste key.

I’ve used N97 for 7 months now, have friends with ‘mini’ and although it’s a good phone, and has more memory on C, I prefer the bigger memory and screen, because I have a lot of media on the phone and it looks better on the bigger screen, also when using dialer the extra space is better for ‘fat fingers’. The original phone has been hard work with memory issues, physical problems (camera lens cover) and software problems, BUT !!! With lots of work and V2.1 software, is now a really good phone, and mine gets extreme use on web and with Video and music on a daily basis and I enjoy it that much I manage to ‘kill’ the battery most days ![]()
