N800 ultimate review post

March 2nd, 2007

The N800 continues on its storming run of reviews with high-ratings, we’ve decided to put together all the reviews we’ve featured here on WOM World with some new ones that have come through, so you have a list of all the good the bad and the…interesting.

A new one is from the guys at XYZComputing who think the outlook for the N800 is shiny. Brad Kellett of Mobileburn has put his thoughts down in a great 3 page review. Chlettn of mobile-review has put together what bloggers and community members are calling the ultimate review.

Previously posted we have Teemu’s first impressions, Jonathan Green from Atmaspheric|Endevours and all the things he loves about the N800, Jose_R.A.M of Mobileburn has his comprehensive review and q&a session. Oliver from Mobilecrunch and his impressions after 1 months use, Jollemi from Elite B*stards thorough review, Reggie’s 35 minute video review taking you through everything you need to know over at Internettablettalk, the Iron Cook’s spicy review at his Spicy Blog Roll. The infosyncworld video review where the device received 78%, and finally the seriously tech-savy review by arstechnica.

We’re sure there are more to come, but for now, if you want info on the N800, we’re sure you can find what you want in the above links, always feel free to ask these guys questions and leave them comments.

Anyone ever try this with any flash online collaberation sites like http://www.collab.nl? If so does the camera work as well?

Have an n800 w/OS2008. I want an app to read/write MS Word. Can anyone help?

    Doug,

I’m in the same situation. I’m waiting for AbiWord or OpenOffice to make it to OS2008. Transferring files between AbiWord and Microsoft Word is discussed here: http://www.abisource.com/help/en-US/howto/howtoword.html

For now, some Linux savvy guys are working on getting Abiword to run on OS2008. See the discussion/progress here: http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=133767

I’m confident one or both applications will make it to OS2008 for the N800 and N810.

I have a Sprint Motorola MotoQ phone, and am trying to connect the N800 (that I just received) to it via bluetooth for internet connection. The two devices don’t see each other. Does this mean I can’t use my MotoQ phone?

A decent wp would be great. Another great app for the N 800/810 would be a Visio or Dia knockoff as this is something that would make both platforms really useful. Is anyone working on anything like this?

Google docs works on the N800. Upload your word file to google docs on your pc and you can view/edit on your N800.

I am looking to buy a N800 or N810 and am wondering if there is an easy scheduling program I can use on it. I would like to schedule hourly appointments on it as I would like to replace my aging PDA. Thank you in advance for any help.

I want to use my Sierra Wireless 875U USB cellular modem with the n810. I know that usbcontrol can be used to turn the n810 into a USB host. Does the default n810 default linux kernel include drivers for the Sierra Wireless 875U? If not, can it be compiled to include them?

Hello. I have a nokia n800 and I love it. However, when I turn the nokia n800 on, the logo NOKIA shows and the unit won’t do anything else. I have taken the battery out for two weeks and the battery still hasn’t died. I need help. I would prefer not to have to go back to the manufacturer’s settings. However, at this point I am willing to try anything. The nokia is my planner, tablet pc, e-mail on the go, and note-taker for college classes.
    Thank you.
    Cindy
