The N95 is un-thrilling?
July 5th, 2007 at 12:52 pm
We’ve been covering quite a bit of Robert Scoble’s coverage of the N95, and recently the comparisons he’s been making with the iPhone have been kicking up quite a discussion.
Now he’s been experimenting with his friend, who has an iPhone, and one conclusion he has come to is that the N95 is unthrilling compared to the Apple device. Jump over to read what he has to say, what do you think, let him know in his comments section.

I guess we all know people are by and large thrilled with the iphone’s look, and clearly the touch screen and the software have really impressed viewers.
That being said, after two months, I still find the n95 pretty thrilling! I’ve owned some high-tech phones, and the n95 is by far the best I’ve ever had. There have been plenty of complaints (shoddy build on some, crashes, slow gps) but I must have gotten the best one in the bunch; I’v
e had few crashes and use it every day for all kind of things. I use the gps DAILY and have found it is awesome - drove across country with it… and sure, it may not be as great as a car gps with tomtom or magellan… but I loved it. With a 5mp camera, gps and wifi, this is by far the best phone I’ve ever owned.
If someone gives me a free iphone (with free att account) maybe it would be worth comparing… but otherwise, I’m just blown away by the n95.

Unthrilling? Surely that depends on what you do with the phone! Rather than say the N95 is “unthrilling”, i’d say that the Apple iPhone is “novelty”. Look at the features of the N95, it’s far more use in everyday situations that the iPhone could ever be, it may initially not be as cool to use, but it’s certainly thrilling and a joy to work with every single day.
