Mission: Not impossible on your N93!

October 26th, 2006

The Nokia N93 is bringing you the world’s first mobile premiere of Mission: Impossible 3.  The full length film will be supplied on a 512MB miniSD card, and will run at 25 frames per second (DVD standard).  You will also be able to rewind, fast forward, stop and continue watching the movie at any time. Furthermore, to make the movie experience even more complete, you will have the oppurtunity to enjoy it in stereo audio with the headset included in the standard Nokia N93 sales package.

This movie first will be available in Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the UK.  To find out more, visit the Nokia MI3 website here.

Hmm, not so sure about this . . . why not just sell it as a download. 500MB over Wifi on a good connection is only going to take about 1 hour.

They’ll probably sell about a couple of thousand of these movie cards, whereas most N93 owners would download a film if it was just a few quid (or dollars).

Whilst on the subject of movies for the N93, do most owners realise the almost all movies (non DRM) encoded for the iPod also work on the N93? And there are a bucket load of ‘useful’ movie apps for the iPod!

    Hi James

Nokia’s intention here is to include Mission: Impossible 3 in sales packs, not to sell it. The film can be stored on the users PC, allowing the user to utilise the 512MB MiniSD card it comes on.

Hopefully, new users will enjoy watching the film and this will encourage them to use the device as a portable movie player.

On a completely different topic… Any news on your N93?

    Jason
