Sound quality on N95

October 5th, 2007

Whilst undoubtedly one of the loudest Nseries phones, those over at The Nokia Guide think the design of the N95 may nevertheless be flawed. They say that with the speakers being side mounted, most of the sound is projected laterally, a slight problem if the device is held in one’s hand. Maybe two sets of speakers are needed, both front- and side-facing.

An interesting theory and some good information if you’re looking at getting an N95, if you’ve already got one what do you think? Let others know or ask questions here.

i think the side mounted speakers are not that big of an issue. however, what IS a big issue for me (and others i know) is the crappy quality of the audio amplifier (i.e. signal/noise ratio, audio precision) of the N95 when used with a quality headphone. for that price, the N95 sould be easily on pair with other quality mp3 players - whicht it is BY FAR not. the result is, that the N95 does not satisfy me as a “real” audio player replacement - which is a pitty fur such a top range device.
