User Data Preservation on the N95?

March 28th, 2008 at 5:36 pm

When the last firmware update was released for the N82 (version 11.0.117) it saw the debut performace of UDP (or User Data Preservation for the acronymically challenged. This was a great boon for N82 owners as it meant they didn’t need to reinstall everything on their device after a FW update).

Amir over on Mobile Space thinks he is therefore validated in his belief that the same technology should have been introduced to the N95 following it’s recent update to firmware version 21.0.016. He muses on the reasons behind its hiding in the shadows deciding it is most likely a ploy to ensure there are tangible differences between the top Nseries handsets.
