Skype app arrives to mixed reviews
April 25th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Amir from Mobile Space and Apoc at Symbian Freak have both been talking about Skype For Mobile.
Both are disappointed that the app is written in Java and isn’t native Symbian, but then the views diverge. Amir is concerned that it routes conversations through the phone network, thus defeating ‘the rationale behind developing and using Skype’. He is less than impressed. Apoc, on the other hand, reckons that this Skype app can become ‘a part of your day’, but hopes the ‘battery drain and latency problems’ that the prototype suffered have been resolved.
Have you downloaded Skype yet? What are your thoughts? Let Amir know, or join in the SF discussion.
