N95 OS – speed tips
May 11th, 2008
IJM from the N95 Users Forum has uncovered some top tips for speeding up the OS on your N95. A number of them may well be day-to-day musts for a power user, but if you’re new to S60 this could just be the boost you’ve been waiting for.
The best hint of the bunch has to be to change your log duration to 1 day. The default of 30 days only serves to clog up your system and for speed purposes changing this setting is a must. Another tip which may come naturally to the cognoscenti amongst us but could be new to others is to use the numerical keypad to jump to items in the menu. Whether in grid or list mode, each key on the pad corresponds to an item in the menu, so quit scrolling and start pressing.
What do you think of these tricks? Can you think of any others that IJM hasn’t uncovered? Head over and share them with him and the others right now.
