N81 8GB and N82 discussed
May 13th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
We’ve made today ‘podcast Tuesday’ by the looks of it, so sit back and let the sound roll over your aural receptors.
Over at SMS Text News, guest Ben Smith brings us his thoughts on the N81 8GB (the podcast has handy quick links to allow you to jump to your soundbite of choice). He thinks it looks like a ‘big pile of disappointment’ and really isn’t a fan of its ‘finger print magnet’ qualities. ‘Ostensibly a music’ device, Ben continues with his thoughts, especially about the keypad design and button placements. Worth a listen!
Meanwhile in the latest edition of the Mobile Tech Roundup show (number 133 for stats fans), Matthew Miller (Mobile Gadgeteer), Kevin Tofel and James Kendrick chat about the latest toys they’ve been playing with, most noticeably the N82. Matthew has got his hands on one (skip to 6:10 for the meat of the discussion), and he thinks it’s ‘pretty nice’. The xenon flash is ‘amazing’, taking ‘excellent’ photos, allowing snaps to be taken in almost complete darkness. He doesn’t think it will replace his N95, but likes the auto rotate function and the new gallery view (due to it having the latest firmware).
So what do you think of these podcasts? Was Ben overly harsh? What do you think of what Matthew said? Jump over and get involved in the comments.

TomH — I do agree with Ben’s points — however I do also think that the N81 8GB is a gorgeous looking, eye catching device!
