E65 camera - adequate?

May 18th, 2008 at 9:25 am

Writing on Symbian World, Christian Titze brings us a detailed look at what is possible using the camera of the E65.

In a great guide for the E65 owner who perhaps hasn’t had time to get to grips with all the device’s aspects yet, he aims to find out if the 2MP ‘no name’ camera was good or ‘nothing special’. With several handy screen shots, Christian walks through the set up process to best enhance the camera’s abilities, including the sequence mode (which allows users to take 6 images from one button press) and the self timer. He also walks through the video recording mode, describing night shooting and mute recording. Overall he’s happy with the ‘snapshot’ capabilities of the device, but advises against recording your wedding video on it. He wishes the camera had a close up mode, as he reckons most business users would like to photograph documents, but reckons this may be seen in the next Eseries device.

What do you reckon to Christian’s thoughts? Have you used your E65 camera to great effect? Head over and share your ideas and opinions with him and others.

The main shortcomming he finds is the lack of macro mode. Go to YouTube and seach for 7ku8eIFj9_M (it wont let me link here), there’s a video showing you how to take macro shots with a Nokia E65.
