Nokia Maps 2.0 – hands on in the real world

Ben Smith from SMS Text News has posted about his experiences with Ovi, specifically Nokia Maps.

He’s posted previously about his experiences, but due to the recent update from Nokia, has had a chance to get to grips with the new version and compare it to the old one. A ‘vast improvement’ on the previous version, Maps 2.0 is ‘visually more polished with a better interface than the original’. Fair to say, then that Ben was impressed, especially with the stability of the app and the new ‘road-ahead’ 3D view and ‘better indication’ of your surroundings. Overall, Ben says this feels like a ‘competent product’ that is ‘maturing’.
