E61i – a new perspective

May 30th, 2008 at 11:13 am

Yesterday we brought news of an E61i review from Symbian World. Well it seems that there are several new E61i’s floating about in the space, and Amir from Mobile Space has posted about his initial thoughts on getting hold of the device.

First up, he reckons switching from an Nseries to an Eseries device is like ‘migrating to a foreign country’, as the handsets look miles apart. In actual fact, Amir likes the non-sliding candy bar form factor of the E61i and the ‘solid and metallic body’, going as far as to say the construction ‘surpasses’ that of the Nseries handsets. He is a fan of the fact that the screen is viewable in bright light, and isn’t flush with the body of the handset, which offers it ‘a degree of protection’. The D-Pad, in his opinion, is ‘the best of its kind’, and he says mastering the ‘huge’ QWERTY keypad is ‘as easy as pie’. Also in the good points, he lists the battery as ‘one of the best Nokia has ever included with a handset’ and likes the ‘nice’ 2.8 inch display.

Amir promises more posts in the near future, but is there anything you’d like to see him cover? What about any aspects of the look and feel of the handset that Amir didn’t look at? Jump over and leave him a comment.
