E51 firmware update

May 30th, 2008 at 11:21 am

Vaibhav Sharma from The Symbian Blog has posted about the recent firmware update for the E51.

Taking it from v100.34.30 to v200.34.36, Vaibhav reports that sadly there are few details available about what has actually been updated, but does know that the update isn’t available across all product codes. Apparently there are ‘no groundbreaking additions’ in this version, such as FL3, but it does prevent ROM modding.

The guys at the Eseries blog have also picked up on the firmware update. Once again, details seem to have been hard to come by, but there is a handy tip included. Always back up the data on your device before updating the firmware, as losing everything often offends.

What do you think of the update? Did it go far enough for you? What do you need in the next revision? Head over and let Vaibhav know.
