Symbian vs. iPhone UI

June 4th, 2008 at 9:18 am

Over at Symbian Guru, guest author Serko Artinian has posted about the differences between the UIs of the N95-4 and iPhone.

Having spent time with the iPhone GUI, Serko recently returned to Symbian OS, and was aghast at the ‘arcane setup’ and ‘arduous’ task of reconfiguring everything to his liking. One advantage he did find that was after sorting the interface out to his liking, he was able to launch and switch between apps with the ‘added benefit’ of being able to see which programmes were running in the background. Serko does point out that the iPhone’s UI has many advantages over Symbian OS, but thinks it would be great to see the gap become a lot narrower in the future.

What are your thoughts on the duelling UIs? Is there anything you’d like to see Serko cover in his next guest post on the subject? Head over and leave him a comment, he may just take you up on your suggestion.
