E61i – charger and keyboard thoughts
June 4th, 2008
Over at Mobile Space, Amir has continued his review of the E61i, this time focussing on the charger and keyboard.
He’s not impressed with the size of the AC-4 charger that is shipped with the E61i. He says this is ‘twice bigger’ than the usual AC-5 shipped with most other Nokia devices, and doesn’t see why the Eseries should suffer from such a large encumbrance. It might have something to do with the size of the battery needed to run the handset, but Amir thinks Nokia could and should do something about this. He also mentions that although the Eseries devices are aimed primarily at business users, they too ‘need to be entertained with their beloved handset’, bemoaning the fact that apart from the E90, there are no media-centric Eseries handsets.
Amir gives us a clear and extensive walkthrough of the keyboard and exactly what each key is capable of, and adds that switching from a numerical keypad to QWERTY isn’t terribly easy, but ‘the more you use it the faster you become accustomed to it’.
He promises more E61i articles soon, so what would you like to see him cover? Are there any aspects of the keyboard and lack of ‘entertainment’ that you would like more details on? Head over to his page and let him know what you want to see.
