E61i screen – best of the bunch

On the Symbian Guru pages, Dotsisx has been expanding on her initial thoughts on the E61i, this time concentrating on the screen.

Her real hankering is for a dual screen mode (portrait and landscape views), as found on the N95 8GB. Don’t get her wrong, she is a massive fan of the screen as it stands, branding it as ‘gorgeous’, and saying that although there is only a 0.2” difference to the N95 8Gb, it ‘easily gives the impression that it is much much bigger’. She reckons this is down to the design of the form factor which has been specifically devised to make the most of the landscape rendering. This makes it easy - in Dotsisx’s opinion - to find messages, read more text per screen, and carry out IM conversations. She reckons the E61i simply ‘uses the screen estate better’ than other devices, and wishes all new S60 devices came with a better landscape screen as standard.
