E90 final thoughts – a mixed review
June 6th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Meraj Chhaya from PhoneReport has collated his thoughts on the E90, and they make for some interesting, if uncomfortable, reading.
The basic tenet of his argument is that the E90 could be a lot slicker than it is, that it doesn’t use the space it has to the full, and if this is the case, why make it so big? Meraj reckons the E90 doesn’t live up to the competition, but that Nokia have at least done something right by incorporating more features and using the S60 platform. So, despite it being ‘huge and ugly’ and ‘a brick’ with ‘misused’ space at the front, Meraj says it feels like a ‘mini-notebook’. He does bemoan the lack of a touchscreen, saying that these days it is ‘necessary in large display’ devices to have one. Despite all his negatives, Meraj does put some positive spin on things, praising the AGPS and ‘comfortable’ QWERTY keyboard. And a 7/10 score indicates that he didn’t hate it that much!
Have you got similar feelings about the E90? Are there any aspects of the device you’d like Meraj to clear up? Hop over to his site and ask him for more details.
