FL3 on your E90 – stability trick

June 6th, 2008

On the All About Symbian pages, Steve Litchfield has been posting about some short cuts and tricks he has discovered in his device-heavy daily schedule.

He starts by detailing how, following the less-than-successful update of Flash Lite 3 in the last E90 firmware update, he managed to do his own ‘fix’ and make the app as stable as it used to be. It really was as simple as performing a *#7370# factory restore, and ‘Voila!’, FL3 was good to go, even when he reinstalled thirty-plus other apps on top. Steve has a theory about how the firmware bypasses updating FL3 and shares it with his readers, but the end point is that if it doesn’t work, a hard reset will solve most problems.

In other news, Rafe has written about Steve’s video which he has made using the sequencing mode of his device’s camera. An interesting insight into a bus journey, and one brought to us via the power of Nokia. Thanks chaps.

So what do you think of Steve’s latest tricks? Have you used a hard reset to force FL3 to play ball? What about using the sequence mode? Jump through either of the links to have your say.
