E61i vs. N95 8GB

Andrew Currie has posted on his blog about the mini battle he has been having between the N95 8GB he has been playing with, and the E61i that he owns.

In an interesting departure from the normal battle stats where users rate each device on form factor and build quality, Andrew has produced a pie chart showing exactly what he uses his devices for, and rates them according to their performance in these categories. Despite only 5% of his time being dedicated to photography, Andrew isn’t over-enamoured with the 5MP offering of the N95 8GB, and reckons the camera in the E61i is ‘good enough’ for his limited usage.

The gaming power of the N95 8GB is undeniably superior, but once again, Andrew argues the case for the E61i, saying it is ‘perfectly good’, especially for those who are fans of older consoles. The Eseries device wins in the web browsing category, but only because of the landscape form factor, and the annoying habit of the browser seeming slower on the N95. The QWERTY keypad makes the E61i the ‘uncontested SMS champ’, but again the race was close.
