E71: the story so far

June 24th, 2008

The E71 has been in the hands of Ben Smith of SMS Text News who has realised that the device isn’t as perfect as he’d suspected it might be.

That said, it certainly isn’t a bad handset in Ben’s opinion, indeed its very good - it just isn’t as great as it could be, and that’s always frustrating. He is a fan of the form factor, size and style of the E71 as well as the battery life and GPS, but let downs creep in on the email front which is annoying for such a messaging-centric device.

What are your views on the E71? Has it lived up to your expectations? Jump over to leave a comment.

Nokia could also stand to update the PIM apps. This has been said countless times before, but add the categories to to-dos, calendar, etc. Remove the useless field titles from the address book application, create different icons for work/home number, otherwise from the last-dialed list I have no idea which number I’m calling w/o looking at details. This has been a problem since at least s60 v9.1.
