Smooth out your fonts on the N95 8GB

July 9th, 2008

Mark Guim from The Nokia Blog has found a handy piece of software that can make your menus that much prettier. If like Mark, you’re somewhat unimpressed by the ‘rough’ fonts the latest firmware update brought to the N95 8GB Nam, he has some news that may be of interest.

FontRouter rounds off and smooths out all the pixelated fonts and making them ‘more pleasing to read’. With some great screen shot close up examples, mark provides a great ‘How To’ for installing the software. With anti-aliasing turned off, this should work on devices other than the N95 8GB NAM, but Mark doesn’t know which ones, and he says he is confused as to why the firmware update changed the fonts. Hopefully this should sort out the problems that people have been having who like anti-aliasing turned off.

What do you think of the fonts right now? Do you need to smooth them out? Is there anything else FontRouter could do for you? Let Mark know by leaving him a comment.
