Nokia gets Chatting

The space is awash with the news that Nokia Chat has made its long awaited debut. Many, many sites have covered the story and below we’ve tried to bring you a digest of a range of comments.

Kevin C. Tofel from jkontherun explains that it is an IM client that shows your geographic location, a bit like geotagging yourself, or you can use it to announce your arrival at a location (like a bar) to let others know you’re there. Ray at Yet Another Symbian Blog calls it the ‘twitter-esque’ app that he has been waiting for. Kirollos Fares writing on Nseries Blog calls it ‘quite innovative’ .

Symbian in Motion’s Abul gives us the run down of how the app should work, and on which devices, whilst Mike from Symbian Addict says it’s ‘really quite nice’ to see Nokia ‘trying to converge their base applications into one’. All round thumbs up then from the voices out there, and the general feeling is that this is a good move from Nokia.
