N78 firmware update available OTA

Teo from Symbian Freak has reported on the availability of the newest firmware update for the N78, available Over The Air.

He says that the device has now had some issues resolved, such as the bass distortion, optimised GPS performance, and (somehow) a ‘more flexible’ navi-wheel. On the SF forum, there was initial concern from dleonseng that info stored on the device would be lost when the firmware was updated, but a quick reassurance from zubair that this would not be the case – coupled with the usual warning from Apocalypso to make a back up of the memory – soon allayed those fears. Apoc also posts the official log of what the update does, which includes Bluetooth stability and softkey selection improvements.

  After my update from v10 to v12. All the bugs before are fixed.
  But now there are new instability which are (notes: no new software installation after upgrade):
  1. There is one time I cannot answer Video Call, to correct it need restart..
  2. After sometimes, during video call, audio only can go thru handset and unable to change to loudspeaker. To correct it need restart.
  3. Sometimes using voice call, unable to change to loudspeaker. To rectify, need restart handphone.

  Thats are instabilties after upgrade to V12.046 I faced so far..
  Hopefully nokia can solve this after new update…

  i have a US N78 version 10.136 and i am trying to update the phone but its not working, is this update only for the Euro phone?
