N96 a ‘must have’ device
July 16th, 2008
Coja from Gaj-it has brought us his thoughts on the N96, and the impression is that he thinks it’s a ‘grown up’ version of the N95.
Opening with the fact that the device ‘exceeds [his] expectations’, Coja gives the N96 a pretty big platform, but seems to think that it is necessary. He thinks the biggest improvement over the N95 is the increased capacity for storage (16GB internal and an SD card slot for another 8GB), and reckons you will ‘never run out of space for photos, music and games.’ The automatic geo-tagging of photographs and the ‘cleverly designed’ speakers also get a positive mention, as does the ‘more powerful flash’ in the camera unit. The conclusion of the post is an interesting one, with Coja stating that this device is ‘a BIG step forward from the N95’.
Do you agree with what Coja says? Does the N96 really have an advantage over the N95? Jump over and let your thoughts be known.
In other N96 news, Norman John has posted about the Face The Task opportunity for keen N96 wannabe owners to get their hands on an exclusive limited edition numbered handset, one of only 96 to be produced. And there’s the added bonus that you help save some cute red Pandas too.

I looked up the N96 on Mobilecityonline and the specs for the phone include that it has “3G Euro standard,” which I understand is not the same as the 3G that we have in North America. Does that mean that we in the USA should wait for the N96 NAM version to come out who knows when,if at all?? like we had to wait for the NAM versions of the N95 and N95 8GB??? Or is it worth our while to purchase the N96 now? What limitations can we expect from the phone in this regard???? Thanks
