E71 is a ‘classy’ device

July 17th, 2008

Over at The Symbian Blog, Vaibhav Sharma is itching to get his hands on an E71, and whilst he waits he has brought us the thoughts of James Wiseman who has managed to spend some time with the device.

In the bullet-pointed ‘reader review’, James says that the E71 has a ‘much more polished and substantial’ feel about it which makes Blackberries ‘seem cheap and nasty in comparison’. He reckons that the menus feel ‘snappy’, the GPS lock is ‘super-fast’, and the web browser is also ‘faster’. The keypad gets a thumbs up, with James saying it feels ‘very positive’ with ‘easy to press’ keys and he thinks the screen is ‘well laid out’. He thinks that the device is a ‘big, big improvement’ on the E61i and despite not having Blackberry functionality, thinks it could be both a Blackberry and an iPhone killer.

Do you agree with this conclusion? Is there something else you’d like to see Vaibhav cover when he gets his hands on the device? Head over and let him know.
