Nokia Internet Tablets – the savior of the road trip

July 17th, 2008 at 12:32 pm

‘Dad, I’m booooored’…..’Mum, How many more corners?’…..sound familiar? Well now these back seat moans could be a thing of the past, according to Matthew on Gadget Virtuoso.

Simply throw a couple of Nokia Internet Tablets in the back of the car, and the ‘fully portable entertainment system’ will take care of the rest. Utilising the power of Tivotogo (Slingbox doesn’t yet work in a moving car, but how long before the clever developer chaps make that a reality?) Matthew can ensure relative silence from the rugrats. Installing TiVo Desktop Plus makes taking favourite shows on the road (or on the airplane for that matter) ‘a snap’. Matthew explains in detail the process needed to get your set-up set up, and also reveals the amount of time you need to invest to ensure 30 minutes of peace. However long it takes, it’s surely worth it.

Have you used your NIT to buy yourself peace and quiet? Any other tips for using Nokia devices on the road to entertain? Head over and let Matthew know.
