N95 - GPS way off target?

July 22nd, 2008

In the N95Users forum, texaspetey has posted to say the GPS in his device has gone a little awry and puts him 2 miles away from where he is actually sitting.

The advice from fellow members is mixed, purp urging him to turn on his A-GPS, and the very next poster Bartmanekul saying the best course of action would be to turn it off. There are other tales of woe from users like Rusty who was allegedly traveling at 130 mph when he was sitting in his office (admittedly he blames this on the Bluetooth unit he was using at the time). GPS for most forum users only appears to get a quick lock when the A-GPS is activated, otherwise a few minutes is needed for the device to obtain a signal from the satellites.

Have you had any ‘interesting’ GPS experiences with your N95? Is your signal always quick and consistent? Head over to the forum and let others know how your device performs.
