6220 – a ‘cut price N95’?

July 24th, 2008

Mitchell Oke from Gear Diary has had his hands on the 6220 Classic and has been ‘very impressed…almost’.

He goes on to say that whilst the screen is smaller, it actually does ‘look a lot nicer’ thanks to the higher DPI and the 16 million colors. Mitchell says the device is ‘sleek’, but he had issues with his keypad (which, incidentally, he says is a ‘nice size’) and reckons the camera lens cover is ‘terrible’. The problem is the cheap looks that it has, as Mitchell says is might not look ‘great in a business meeting’. He walks us round the device, wanting to ‘berate’ the 2.5mm audio jack but finding himself unable, and praising the ‘frankly outstanding’ 5MP Carl Zeiss camera unit with ‘proper’ xenon flash. FP2 with its menu transitions and the ‘excellent’ browser meant Mitchell found using the 6220 ‘a breeze’.

So what do you think of the handset? Is Mitchell right to say it looks cheap? What about the user experience? Get yourself over to his site and share your views.
