N95 8GB – ‘great for geocaching’

July 29th, 2008 at 10:15 am

Scott has had his hands on an N95 8GB and has brought us his thoughts on his blog on what he reckons is a pretty ‘bulky’ device, but one that is packed with features that will prove that it’s for more than calls.

He reckons the biggest physical ‘deficiency’ is the lack of a QWERTY keyboard, but if you’re looking for one of those, you’re missing the point of an Nseries device. He says the software package is ‘really quite good’, and reckons the GPS would be handy for geocaching (although the level of accuracy it offers at times might prove a bit tricky when looking for a little box). He states that the device seems to be geared ‘almost exclusively’ to being a multimedia device but that it is extremely capable of handling this and is a ‘very good’ media player. Coming from someone who is clearly not a technophile, this is a great place to start if you’re just thinking about getting an N95 8GB, and want to know what the device is capable of.

Is there something you’d like to see Scott explore in the next chapter of his review? Anything he missed when looking at the physical aspects of the device? Head over and leave him a comment.
