Nokia 6220 – replace your digital camera

July 31st, 2008

William Maher, posting on PC Authority, has been testing out the capabilities of the 6220 Classic, and he reckons it’s a distinct possibility that it could replace the digital camera.

He reckons he’d ‘be happy’ to ditch his digital camera in favour of using this handset, and reckons it might even be ‘easier to use’ than some of the heavier Windows-based devices on the market. William reckons that this handset falls into the ‘middle ground’ between ‘hardcore business’ devices and ‘feature-light’ candy bars. There are the usual gripes about the lack of WiFi and the 2.5mm audio jack, but William’s great assertion is that the 6220 is ‘practical enough, and has the quality’ to replace the digital camera most people carry around on holiday and the like. The results of his example snaps were ‘very good, with superb colors and detail’. Take a look for yourself and judge the results.

Is this your experience of the 6220? Does its 5MP camera match up to anything you’ve come across? Jump over and leave William a comment letting him know your thoughts.
