N79, N85

N79 and N85 launched

August 26th, 2008 at 12:11 pm

As expected, the space is awash with the much anticipated news of two new handsets from Nokia, and in an attempt to sate the news-hungry among you, here’s a brief digest of what’s been said so far.

First blood goes to Rafe at All About Symbian who reckons the N79 will ‘sit alongside’ the N78 as a replacement for the N73. He provides an extensive hardware and software list, along with a demo video from Nokia Conversations. Neil Bird from iGadget Life reports that the device comes with 3 Xpress On covers, allowing users to change the color scheme as they wish. Symbian Freak’s Apoc says that the N79 is a ‘technology powerhouse’.

Moving on to the N85, and Neil says this is a ‘more interesting’ device, coming as it does with a 2.6” OLED screen (meaning less power usage) and FM transmitter. Rafe reports that the N85 is the smallest dual sliding Nseries device in the armoury so far, and Apoc adds that the dedicated gaming keys light up in landscape mode and should assist greatly in playing the 10 pre-loaded N-Gage games.

More later to be sure, but for now jump through the links above to learn more and ask any questions that you have about these shiny new devices.
