N79 and N85 – a step too far?

August 27th, 2008 at 3:55 pm

Jaganath, the Digital Rover, has posted his thoughts on the latest arrivals to the Nokia stable, and reckons they are both ‘pointless updates’.

Pointing out that there are quite a few features in common, and only really form factor distinguishing them, he says that Nokia should settle on three designs (he suggests candybar, slider and dual slider) and make three handsets with ‘incremental’ improvements year on year. The current situation, he states, is ‘very confusing’ for the end user to make a decision, and urges the manufacturer to stop releasing so many devices.

What are your thoughts on this argument? Are you an embracer of so many handsets? Jump over to have your say on the matter.
