N76 Camera Review

January 14th, 2008

Kiro at the N95 Blog has followed his look at the N76’s music playing capabilities by turning his attention to the camera on the device.

Featuring sample shots taken by day and night, the overall conclusion is that the camera is fine for quick snaps, but certainly not in the league of a stand-alone camera. The most positive aspect however is the speed of taking photos, which is certainly good news for those who literally want to ‘capture the moment’. The let-downs of the poor flash and lack of auto-focus are disappointing however making the camera more handy than useful.

New review of the N76 as a music player

January 9th, 2008

Kiro at The N95 Blog has posted a review of the N76 looking largely at the music capabilities of the device.

He’s a big fan of the N76 as a music player describing it as ‘awesome’ not least because it utilizes an older version of the music player than some of the latest handsets, which he has found to be less buggy. The external keys and screen are great to use, and of course, the music quality is as expected.

What do you think of the N76? How do you think it compares to, say, the N81? Jump over to leave a comment.

Panoramic shots made easy

December 19th, 2007

One of the great aspects of having an Nseries device in your pocket is the ability to get decent snaps while you’re out and about. Sometimes however, you can’t quite fit your newly discovered vista into one shot.

Step forward therefore Panoman 3.0 which has just been released. Zach at Symbian In Motion is a fan of the application that allows you to take and stitch together up to 12 full scale images. He has written up the new features in the latest release, as well as providing some sample images.

Do you like extending the ability of your Nseries device? Jump over to have your say.

Review of the N76

November 14th, 2007

Mr X at the Part Time Phone Reviewer blog has been taking some time to look at the N76, and is impressed by what he sees.

After considering design, battery life, internet and the dedicated music keys, he sums up the N76 as a ’stylish yet powerful’ device capable of bringing ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from all who set eyes upon it.

The review also features images of the device, plus photo and video examples so you should get a nice overall feel for the capabilities of the N76.

October 2nd, 2007

N76 users should link up their device to Nokia Updater and grab the latest firmware update. As you can see below, the update adds a search on active standby; this basically means that you can search your entire device for whatever you want from the opening screen, very useful.

August 24th, 2007

The N76 has a 2MP camera and not being the main feature of the device, it’s not talked about all that much unfortunately.

Beerbong, from the Nokian blog, has put together a nice post featuring 9 images, taken out doors in good lighting. So if you’re after a good example of how the pictures turn out, jump over to have a look and let him know what you think.
