Nokia 6220 on the Twilight red carpet
December 3rd, 2008
Tonight sees the UK premiere of the movie Twilight, and Maggie writes on her I’m Still Wandering pages that she’s going to be there, and live-blogging using a Nokia 6220.
She promises photos and video, and her excitement is clear to see (hopefully she’ll be able to hold the ‘fancy new Nokia’ device steady during her interviews). Stay tuned to her site during the evening to see what happens, and whether she manages to get her hands on the stars.

E71 vs.…everything
December 3rd, 2008
A couple of comparison posts have appeared in the space pitching the E71 against the iPhone and the G1.
Saif reckons the Nokia device has a more mature OS than the Anroid-running G1, so wins in many regards such as general performance after the device has bee running for a while, and the ability to send contact info easily. DT posts about the design of the E71 and has shared a couple of images of the device up against an iPhone.
Jump through either of the links to share your thoughts on how the E71 does compared with other devices.

N97 is a ‘marvel’
December 3rd, 2008
Edward Umana has published his thoughts on the newly released N97 on the PhoneReport pages, and he reckons it is world class.
He says that the device is the ‘ultimate flagship’ and it ‘breaks all the limits’, affirming Nokia’s position as the world’s leading manufacturer, in his judgment. He thinks users will be ‘amazed’ by the 1500MaH battery, and there’s lots more opinion to get your teeth into.
Head over and have a read, and if there’s any more info you need, let Edward know.

N79 is an ‘apt successor’
December 3rd, 2008
Logesh Kumar brings the readers of Geeky Gizmos his thoughts on the N79, and reckons it is ‘cool’ enough to get attention at a bar and is an ample replacement for the N78.
The ‘excellent’ UI and ‘really great’ speakers get a look in, but he does mention that the camera is not quite up to the mark, despite its 5MP power. He also includes a few videos of the device, from an unboxing to the promo film, so by the time you’ve finished, there should be nothing you don’t know about the N79.
If, however, there is anything that you still need info on, head over and ask away, Logesh will surely oblige.

More N97 reaction
December 2nd, 2008
Since its announcement this morning, the space has been buzzing with reaction and opinion on the N97.
atmasphere has posted on his blog that the device will be the new flagship, and that the home screen is more of a ‘widget-top’ which can be wiped clean by swiping your finger. He praises a QWERTY on an Nseries device, hailing this as the ‘single unit that can handle everything’.
On the Symbian Guru forum, Dotsisx has called the announcement ‘phenomenal’ and lists the ‘firsts’ that the N97 has – first Nseries QWERTY, first Nseries touchscreen and first Nokia device with 32GB built in memory. She too is excited about the ‘customizable homescreen’, and the touch capabilities feature highly in her praise too.
What do you think from what you have read? Does this device address your wish list? Jump through either link and let people know what you’re thinking.

5800 XpressMusic – much better than first thought
December 2nd, 2008
Dotsisx has been playing with the Nokia 5800 for some time now, and has finally brought us her considered thoughts on the Symbian Guru pages.
Having first had a pre-release version in her hands, she was impressed by the screen of the one she has had recently, saying it is ‘super duper responsive’. Contrary to others who have said that the tactile feedback is annoying, she says it is ‘really nice’ and easy to get used to. She publishes some pics of the handset in comparison to other devices to give an idea of the size.
What are your impressions of the 5800? Managed to get your hands on one yet? Head over and let Dotsisx know.
