‘Amazing’ 5800 XpressMusic
June 12th, 2009
Over at Best Digital Product, the mysterious Reviewer has a 5800 XpressMusic, and is impressed with the design and usability.
It has ‘the most complete set of features I have ever wanted’ - not bad for an opening gambit. He adds that it is lightweight and feels ready to take ’some knocks’ and the ‘press sensitive’ screen actually gives more control than a true touchscreen when travelling by bus or tuk-tuk.
Is there anything further that you’d like to see explored? Do you agree with the view of the handset? Head over and leave your thoughts.

Camera angle of the N97
May 18th, 2009
Mark Guim expressed a concern about the camera angle of the N97 following his 5800 video shooting experiences.
Fortunately, and this is an indication of the power of blogging, someone from Nokia picked up on his concern and sent him a comparison photo (below):

Mark’s fears appear to be allayed by this pic. What do you think of the whole story? Jump over and let him know your thoughts on the cameras.

5800 unboxing video - the sequel
May 14th, 2009
We have already had one unboxing video featured today, but two unboxings are better than one. mugan78 has uploaded what he says is his ‘first ever’ unboxing video, featuring the Nokia 5800.
And yes, he chose the blue one!
Good going for a first timer mugan78, now we want a few more. Go on and give him some constructive criticism (or comment on the device).

5800 – ‘I’m sorry that I doubted Nokia’
May 13th, 2009
John Biggs, from MobileCrunch, admits that he was far from impressed with the Nokia 5800 when he first saw it last October, thanks to touchscreen hysteria.
However, now he admits that the 5800 could be better than he first thought, the ‘5800 is one of the nicest little touchscreen phones I’ve used in a long while’. John feels that the best way to use the device is with the stylus – cleverly hidden on the back – to get the most out of the screen.
Head over and drop him a comment if you agree with what he has to say, or if you have found the opposite to be true.

16:9 on the 5800 XpressMusic
May 12th, 2009
Mark Guim has pointed out on his Nokia Blog that the focal length of the 5800 XpressMusic seems to be set wrong.
He provides two example photographs as evidence, and highlights that the problem only appears to be when the camera is set to record video. Mark says he doesn’t like this feature as it means he has to stand further away to capture video. To demonstrate this, James Whatley and Ben Smith have posted a video on their new site The Really Mobile Project.
Have you had the same issues with 16:9 video recording on the 5800? Jump through and let any of the guys know how you feel.

Dusan has posted the clip, although warns that it might disappear from where it’s hosted!
