E71 RSS FeedTwitterers love Nokia – in all its forms
October 11th, 2008
We love Twitter for its very randomness, but occasionally it throws up some absolute gems, especially when Nokia devices are being discussed.
A couple of people have been noticing the E71, kapilb saying he saw ‘at least 5 people’ using the device, and he wants on very much. Topgold ‘overheard’ on Jaiku that the E71 is ‘fast’ and the user couldn’t use the N95 because of it. aDB is coming to love his Symbian device, and lets everyone know it’s an E65.
Have you Tweeted about your Nokia device? Have you any brief thoughts you want to share with others? Get Tweeting and share those opinions, who knows who might reply?

E71 gallery
October 10th, 2008
Phat^Trance has been on the trawl to bring us some high quality images again, and this time he’s netted some decent E71 snaps to post on his Daily Mobile blog.
Grabbing shamelessly from the Planet Nokia forum, he once again lets the pictures do the talking, adding the opinion that the device looks ‘sweet’ and he can’t wait to get his hands on one.
What do you think of this device? Is this the first you have seen of the E71? Jump over and let Phat^Trance know your opinion based on these pics.

Nokia E71 – definitely different
October 10th, 2008
Martin_j001 has posted in the AcidStudioz forum about the device that is replacing his Blackberry, a shiny new E71.
Under pretty intense questioning from fellow forum members, Martin_j001 defends his decision stoutly – being accused of selling out, he says he is ‘proud of it’. vietalogy asks how the experience is so far, and the reply is that it is ‘definitely different’, but that he is ‘liking it so far’.
If you have any questions about switching from another OS to S60, or just changing your device to an E71, why not head over and leave Martin_j001 a question in the forum.

E71 – the modern day man of keypads?
October 10th, 2008
Andrew Currie has posted on his blog about the development of the QWERTY keyboard on mobile devices, and thinks the E71 is the pinnacle of the evolutionary process.
If the E61 was Neanderthal, and the E61i Cro Magnon man, then the E71 represents modern day homo sapiens; giving tactile feedback, further travel (distance the button has to be pushed) and ergonomically curved. All these factors make this the ‘best keypad of the bunch’ and even allow for the user to hold the device in one hand and input text with the other.
Do you agree with Andrew’s conclusions? Is the keypad the best you have come across? Jump over and let him know your thoughts.

The buzz of the E71
October 9th, 2008
Over on his blog, Thai Ngo has brought his readers his thoughts on the E71 and reckons it is providing a ‘new buzz’ in the business market.
He says that the keyboard ‘sets the standard’ for QWERTY models and can live with the 2.36” screen despite having a penchant for the larger size. He is a fan of the OS and reckons the quality of calls is ‘as good as the best in the world’. Also getting praise from Thai is the ‘very powerful’ battery, the stability and the design.
Do you agree with what Thai has to say about this device? Is there any aspect of the E71 you’d like to see him cover in the next post? Head over and let him know.

E71 out of the box and raring to go
October 7th, 2008
Kevin T. Neely has got his hands on an E71 white and has completed the first part of his review on his Rubbernecking blog.
In his eagerness to start using the device, the box contents list was not completed on first posting, but this is understandable, as Kevin was keen to get the ‘monster’ charged and working. He is a little worried about how the white surface will cope with continuous handling, but he was impressed by the ‘puppy’ and prefers it to the silver version.
Have you got any thoughts on which design you prefer? How has the E71 improved your life? Anything you’d like to see covered in the next post? Jump over and let Kevin know.

E71 – a heavenly device?
October 6th, 2008
The blogpastor has written about his new way of keeping track of his pastoral duties – the E71.
Replacing all his other mobile devices with the Eseries handset, he got a device that makes calls, a calendar and a camera all in one. He is a fan of the ‘slim androgynous look’ of the device, and is ‘satisfied’ with what he has been capable of doing with it. Suffice it to say that now all his diary requirements are kept up to date and it is easy to keep track.
Do you use an Eseries device to keep track of your diary? The blogpastor’s also looking for a suitable Bible download, so if anyone can help jump over and let him know.

Nokia headphone design and alarm shortcut
October 6th, 2008
Mark Guim over on The Nokia Blog has picked up on the Music Almighty Headset competition from Nokia that allows users to design their dream headset. He’s published his own, so jump over to have a look and find out more about Music Almighty.
Mark also brings to relief to weary fingers with a key-stroke saving tip for setting alarms on your S60 device. Little did he (or I!) know that by opening the clock app and simply entering the time on the number pad you can set an alarm. Neat, if not revolutionary!
Jump through the links above to leave your comments for Mark or ask any questions.

E71 – a bridge to a QWERTY Nseries?
October 3rd, 2008
tnkgrl has been using an E71 as her primary device for a while now, and brings us her findings on her blog.
She says it has an ‘elegant design language’ and is ‘pretty impressed’ with the device. Also getting the thumbs up is the build quality, and tnkgrl bemoans the fact that Nseries devices don’t come with quality as solid as the E71. The ‘superb tactile feedback’ from the keypad receives praise, and the only thing that is a ‘disappointment’ is the camera.
Do you agree with tnkgrl’s conclusions? Is the E71 as good as she says? Head over and share your opinion.
