December 3rd, 2008
A couple of comparison posts have appeared in the space pitching the E71 against the iPhone and the G1.
Saif reckons the Nokia device has a more mature OS than the Anroid-running G1, so wins in many regards such as general performance after the device has bee running for a while, and the ability to send contact info easily. DT posts about the design of the E71 and has shared a couple of images of the device up against an iPhone.
Jump through either of the links to share your thoughts on how the E71 does compared with other devices.

Dan Carter from World of Nokia has taken an extensive look at the E71, including a tour around the device with images, and shares his thoughts.
After spending some time with it, Dan was enamoured, going as far as to say that it is not only Nokia’s best effort, but the ‘best smartphone ever’. The ‘premium’ build quality, extensive battery life and easy to use keyboard means he will have ‘no hesitation’ in purchasing this device.
Do you agree with Dan’s bold statement? What are your experiences of the device? Jump over and have your say.

E71 musings
November 26th, 2008
Tax Man has shared his thoughts on the E71, and after getting past the old ‘cramped’ QWERTY chestnut it was ‘smooth sailing’.
He reckons that it can be quite tricky to find the apps and utilities that the device is ‘loaded’ with due to the UI, and claims the iPhone is more intuitive. He reckons syncing his device with his Mac was simple but he had a little trouble getting to grips with the camera.
What do you think to the Tax Man’s thoughts? Have you mastered the device yet? Head over and let him know what you think of it.

Launch of Nokia viNe
November 26th, 2008
The Guru reports that Nokia viNe has launched, and brings us his thoughts on the ‘prettier’ version of Sportstracker. He lists the devices that the service is available on, and comments that the fact it is not available on the N95 or the E66 is a strange one. Ani from the S60 blog also reports on the release and reckons that it is a viable alternative to a PC for sharing one’s life. He reckons it’s a ‘good job’ by Nokia and includes some screen shots of the website.
Have you used viNe yet? Do you think it’s a good way of letting others know what you’ve been up to? Jump through the links above to share your thoughts.

E71 gets a skater’s backing
November 25th, 2008
pt writes on the skateboardspot pages that he is a fan of the E71, going as far as to say it’s ‘awesome’.
There were a couple of niggles that will probably be sorted with the next firmware update – such as a contact’s birthday being saved in the address book but not appearing in the calendar. Other than that, he loved the device, as it does ‘everything’ he wants it to, has a ‘handy’ QWERTY keypad and the GPS was a ‘pleasure’.
Are you a ‘normob’ that has discovered the E71? What have you discovered the device does for you that you didn’t think it would? Head over and let pt know.

Nokia issued with a ‘to do’ list
November 24th, 2008
The Renegade Fanboy has come up with a wish list of improvements and innovations that he’s looking for Nokia to implement in the coming weeks and months.
Some of them are to do with devices and limiting the number of releases in each year. He reckons that there should be two N- and two Eseries per 12 months. He also implores the manufacturer to ensure that all devices are made released with USB charging. Many of the suggestions are quite enlightening, so head over and see what you think, then add any more you’re desperate to see.

E71 is all about the speed
November 24th, 2008
Ben has been taking the E71 for a test drive, and reckons it responds like a ‘well drilled soldier’.
This is because when he pushes a button, stuff happens. Unlike other devices he mentions, there is no lag between a request and information appearing on the screen. He also reckons the build quality of the device is ‘flawless’ and the design looks better in real life than in images he has seen.
So what do you think to the E71? Is there anything you’d like to see Ben cover in his next post? Head over and leave him a comment.

E71 – likes and dislikes
November 21st, 2008
On the avocado8 pages, Lori has continued her look at the E71, and shares her thoughts on the device.
She wasn’t a fan of the OS after using the iPhone, saying there were many ‘cryptic icons’, and she had issues with the connection options. That said, she really liked the keyboard as the keys made it easier to type with ‘two thumbs at once’.
So what do you like about the device? Do you agree with Lori? Jump over and let her know.

Eseries helps you relieve boredom
November 21st, 2008
There’s a lot of love for the new Nokia Unloader site in the space, and people are getting rid of their dullest docs.
Rob posts a video on the Don’t Be Greedy site of his document getting the treatment, and reckons it could be a great way to get rid of some frustration as the presentation gets its millionth amend. Tom Langdon may have Awful Handwriting, but reckons the site is a ‘genius’ way of saying the E71 and E66 can handle loads of doc types. Finally the N95Users Forum has taken the idea on board, and thisis_Wayne thinks the ‘rawness’ of destroying docs in this way is a great idea (and loves the tree planting agenda too).
If you’ve not seen the site yet, head over to The Unloader and get rid of your unwanted documents.
