N81 RSS FeedN81 8GB special edition unboxed
April 18th, 2008
An unboxing of the N81 8Gb has taken place over at TamsS60 - the S60 Blog.
Tam’s unboxing is of the special edition of the N81 that came in a cylindrical box with included Bose headphones. While his first impressions were that this colossal package may contain something altogether untoward, like a roast pig(!), the conclusion post unboxing is that almost everything you will ever need is included right in the box.

N81 8GB and N95-1 stretch their legs
April 14th, 2008
erazer007 has reviewed both the N81 8GB and N95-1 and posted his views on the N95 Users forums which are worth a look if you want some new opinions on these devices.
Both reviews feature a good selection of images as well as break downs of the major features on each device. With regards to the N81 8GB the main lets downs are the poor camera and screen in erazer007’s opinion though otherwise it is a great device, and one reccommeded if you don’t quite want to stretch to an N95 8GB.
The N95-1 review sees the battery life and lack of USB charging as the biggest negatives while the glut of other top features (camera, GPS, multimedia) see erazer007 class the N95 (along with its variants) as possibly the best device on the market.

N81 8GB first impressions…
March 20th, 2008
Hamidi has posted his views of the N81 8GB over on the Mobile Review forums.
Complete with a good selection of images, the review looks through the wide range of features on the device and considers the camera in more depth than most would on this device - definitely worth a look if you want to know whether the 2MP module in the N81 will live up to your expectations on the imaging front.
Hamidi has also taken the time to respond to user questions, as well as update his findings as his time with the N81 has progressed. Jump over to leave your comments.

Lengthy look at N-Gage First Access
March 12th, 2008
Munkimatt at Nokia Geek has put together a review of N-Gage which can only be described as comprehensive.
Featuring a brief history of the N-Gage platform, a walk through of what the current release has to offer along with plenty of screen shots and of course Matt’s own opinions on the platform. He also looks through some of the available games offering verdicts on these so you can jump straight into thumb bashing goodness. He reckons these don’t push the N81 he’s been playing on to the full yet, but all bodes well for the future and he’s looking forward to what comes next.

Ngage First Access client, in depth review
March 6th, 2008
Marty3 over at Symbian Freak has posted his views on the N-gage First Access client, and it’s a great walk through of the release.
Covering three separate pages (count ‘em!) Marty3 walks through each section of the client with screen shots explaining what features are available and how to make use of them. The end section however is reserved for bugs that he has found when using the client, the main one being an issue with connecting to it via packet data, and sometimes even wifi. Head over to read the full review.

N81 reviewed by The Geek
February 26th, 2008
Munkimatt from Nokia Geek passes on his thoughts about the N81 he has managed to procure. He loves the screen size and is a big fan of the keylock. The minimalistic looks also float his boat, and he thinks the device has ‘a definite sense of style’. He also likes the music capabilities, but is lukewarm rather than gushing with praise.

As for the memory, the number and deployment of the keys, and the camera, don’t get him started! He is fairly scathing of them all in equal measure. Suffice it to say that overall, this isn’t his favourite Nokia product ever.

N-Gage fans get hooked
February 19th, 2008
PL-Pirat at Project NeXt has had a play on Hooked On:Creatures of the Deep for N-Gage, and he’s been completely reeled in.
To say he liked the game is somewhat of an understatement, seeing as he gave it a 96% rating, making it unique amongst reviews on the site in receiving the ‘Ultimate Award of Exellence’! There are plenty of screen shots in the review as well as a look through the gameplay and design, all of which score highly in PL-Pirat’s opinion.
If you’re a keen player of the game already, you can also check the ‘tips’ thread running on Project NeXt to leave any advice you have on the game, and find those of others.

N81 review… times two!
January 28th, 2008
Kiro from The N95 Blog has reviewed the N81 and its music capabilities. He loves the dedicated music keys, which make the experience that bit much better, though he did find that the relative size of these, and other keys on the phone, made it difficult to multi-task without inadvertently pausing or skipping tracks.
If that wasn’t enough, check out Dotsisx’s post over at Symbian Guru. Having fallen for the Bose headphones she was sent with the special edition N81, she has listed fifteen phrases to describe how they compliment the audio experience on the N81, because one just wouldn’t do!
