N810 is difficult to get to grips with
June 24th, 2008
GSI-R, writing on GSi-R’s blog has put the N810 through the mill, including several very fetching and colorful snaps of the device!
Unfortunately it isn’t a great result for the Nokia Internet Tablet, which GSI-R found ‘odd’ and ‘heavy’ and was unable to get along with at all well. Other down sides were the quiet speakers though there was respite with the OS and battery life proving there is life in the N810 after all.
GSI-R suggests that maybe a lack of time with the device is responsible for the feelings displayed? What do you think? Is there any advice you could pass on that might ease GSI-R’s path with the N810? Jump over to leave a comment.

Titanas over at Pestaola.gr has answered the question on the lips of every prospective N810 user: what exactly does it look like when you’re using the device?
He’s done a great job of posting a total of 60 different screen shots from his N810 running OS2008 looking at the OS from every angle, so you can get immersed in that way the OS looks.

Where do you use yours?
April 4th, 2008
If you like Internet Tablets, and you like pictures (and who doesn’t?!) then there’s a great thread running over at Internet Tablet Talk…
Prestwick has been wondering where people take their Internet Tablet to let it roam free and has put out the call for users to post their images. There are plenty of photos of N800s and N810s in action on desks, coffee tables and outdoor excursions up and down the land, though the best use of a tablet must go to dubwise - head over to check out what his is running…

N810… the N800 evolved?
March 25th, 2008
Over at OS News, Eugenia Loli-Queru has reviewed the N810 and concludes that it is a nice piece of kit, giving it a rating of 8/10.
The review makes many comparisons to the N800 both in terms of hardware and the difference between the OS2007 and OS2008 versions of the Maemo Linux OS that originally shipped on the N800 and N810.
There is plenty Eugenia likes about the N810, not least the battery life and OS2008 updates, though she reckons the price point is just too steep for the N810 to break through. Jump over to see what other aspects caught her eye, and leave your own comments.

N810 ethernet networking
March 17th, 2008
Kevin C. Tofel over at jkOnTheRun provides us with details of how to connect your N810 to a wired Ethernet via USB. Now you’ll need to concentrate to make this work, but every last step is explained and by the end of it, you’ll be up and running (as far as your cable allows).
If you can wade your way through the Linux commands (and you NIT owners know all about those), the process will give you the ability to network seamlessly with your Linux PC.
Is this the easiest method? What do you think to having to go Linux crazy? Why not jump over and have your say.

Reviewer has fun with the N810
February 1st, 2008
Andrew Leung has joined the collective at The Nokia Blog and he’s kicked off his tenure with a review of the N810.
The review makes comparisons with the N800 for those who may be familiar with earlier tablets, and it is notable that the N810 comes out favorably each time. Andrew is very keen on the web experience on the N810 as one might expect, but also loves the open-source philosophy of the tablet, meaning almost anything is possible with 3rd party add-ons.

N810 gets mixed reception
January 31st, 2008
Scott Colvey of Mobile Computer has reviewed the N810 internet tablet, and it’s a mixed result for the Nseries device.
The in-depth review, along with a good selection of photos, does consider the N810 to do what it sets out do - browse the web - very well, enjoying the browser and screen for surfing the web as well as the kick-stand. Unfortunately this is about all they like, with lack of phone functionality, to pick up data at the very least, as well as the poor GPS top of the list of gripes.
In the end however, Scott thinks that were it not for the iPhone, the N810 would seem a fantastic piece of kit. As it is though, there are just too many things the N810 doesn’t do well enough to be considered a major player. What do you think? Jump over to leave your comments.

The N810 takes on the E90
January 30th, 2008
Over at All About Symbian, Krisse has posted the first part of a review comparing the N810 internet tablet with the Nokia E90.
The post looks at the hardware and communications features on the devices. Krisse notes that the devices have similar specs on paper and indeed are surprisingly similar in the hand when their keyboards are exposed, however the N810’s keyboard feels a little more satisfying to use while the screen is also larger.
On the communication front, the E90 is designed to carry a SIM card as well as work via Wi-fi and bluetooth and so tops the N810 in this respect. Unsurpringly then, the N810 seemed better tuned to pick up Wifi signals than the E90.

Typing on the N810’s keyboard
January 27th, 2008
One of the plus points of the N810 Internet Tablet for many users is the inclusion of a hardware keyboard. How well does it really perform though? James Burland at Nokia Creative wanted to find out so he he made this video:
The video tests the N810 in ‘thumb typing’ and ‘finger typing’ as well as comparing its performance to the iPhone. Jump over to leave a comment.
