GSi-R reckons that the N95 is as popular today as it was when it first launched, and junchao8 holds that it isn’t the end of the ‘glory days’ for the device, as there is bound to be a major firmware update coming soon that will bring the device to a higher level. Gladel says that the N95 is ‘the king’, and plenty more users are having their say on their experiences with the device - how it has kept them entertained when they are bored, and how they still find are discovering new facets of it now.

What are your experiences of the device? Is it as good as these guys are maintaining? Head over to the forum and have your say.

Lexcen from Gripes of Wrath has posted about the week since getting hold of the 6220 Classic.

Some of the hidden functions that aren’t obvious from other reviews are highlighted, such as the voice command functions that are included. Press a button, and say the name of a contact, and the handset will dial it - similarly, say ‘phonebook’, and it will open. Lexcen does have a minor gripe though – as the blog name might suggest – and that is the battery life, which could be a little better, especially after a ‘heavy session’ of GPS tracking.

Have you had your hands on the 6220? Do you agree with Lexcen? Are you thinking of getting one and want to know more? Head over and leave a comment.

Mark Laris from Mobile Tech Review has got his hands on an E71, and brings us his thoughts in his latest post.

Straight out of the box, Mark has noticed that the reception problems reported around the space in recent days is actually an issue and not a myth, but one which can be avoided by holding the device in a certain way. On the plus side, the device is ‘fast’, as Mark says he’s never seen a device ‘even come close’ to the speed of the E71. He says that browsing is as fast as it is on his desktop, and there is no lag when he executes a command. It’s clear he’s a fan of the speed, but not of the antenna placement.

Is there anything else you’d like to see Mark in the upcoming posts he promises? What aspect of the device are you keen to know about? Head over and let him know your thoughts.

Writing on Mobile World Innovation, THETRUTH has shown his readers how he uses the TV-Out function on his N95-4.

Connecting his device to his mini PC, he browses the web, connects to Google Maps (showing the satellite view), and calculates a route to work. He shows that the screen is mirroring exactly what is displayed on his N95-4, which is especially useful when playing games for a bigger screen experience. When using the controls on the device for gaming, there is no lag between hitting a control and seeing the corresponding action on the larger screen. He even gets use out of both a mammoth 40″ LCD and his portable DVD player for a more restrained big screen experience. So far from being a gimmick, he thinks that the TV-Out function is ‘awesome’.

What uses have you put the TV-Out function to? Has THETRUTH’s video opened your eyes to the possibilities? Head over and leave him a comment.

The S60 Blog’s Anirudh Sharma brings us an in depth comparison between the upcoming releases from Nokia and Samsung – the N96 and the Innov8.

Build wise, there’s not much to choose between them, except the extra 15g that the Samsung device weighs. There are some things that Anirudh isn’t too keen on, such as the silver rim of the N96, and the fact that the Innov8 is a uni-slider while the Nokia device slides both ways. The Samsung packs an 8MP camera, whereas the N96 has the 5MP Carl Zeiss unit we’re all used to from other handsets, and it remains to be seen how they match up against each other. There are many other aspects measured by Anirudh, and if you’re pondering your next device, this is a good place to start.

Having read the post, is there anything else you need to know? Are there any burning questions that weren’t covered? Head over and leave a comment.

Titanas from Pestola in Greece has posted about the E71, which he reckons is just about the ‘most beautiful’ device on the planet.

The accolades really don’t stop throughout the length of the post, as Titanas praises the design, the keyboard, the battery cover and anything else in sight. The feel in his hand was ‘just great’ thanks to the metal ‘grid texture’ and the keys (whilst looking small) actually do a ‘damn good job’. Whilst the 3.2MP camera is ‘just’ a 3.2MP camera, Titanas really, really likes this device – saying it has ‘great looks, slim body and beautiful design’.

Mark Laris has had his hands on an E66 for a while now, and brings us his thoughts over at his Mobile Technology Review blog.

Whilst he missed the QWERTY keyboard of the E90, he reckons everything else about the device was ‘great’. He says there were ‘significant improvements’ in the very stable firmware, even using all the 3rd party software that he normally utilises to run his primary business device, Mark did not experience one crash. The battery life impressed him, running as it did all day connected to WiFi and 3G, and the multimedia capabilities, whilst not matching the N95, are adequate. He reckons Nokia have built a ‘real winner’.

Do you agree with Mark? Have you had any problems with your E66? Is there anything else you’d like to know about the device? Head over and let him know your thoughts.

Having just got wind of the code breaking/weirdest video clip ever exposing mind breaker recently, Scott got hooked and was determined to crack it. He reckons it’s actually a very clever way of getting users to familiarise themselves with Nokia’s Download! service, and also gets you to interact with both your device and your PC at the same time – something not all of us do. So, is this just a clever marketing ploy or a nice addition to the web?

Having read Scott’s post, what do you think? Have you cracked the codes and seen the clip yet? Head over and let him know how you’ve been getting on.

Over at Mobile Review, Eldar has produced a massive review of the 6220 Classic, one which covers everything in great detail.

Kudos goes to the ‘ceramic-esque’ finishing of the back of the handset, which doesn’t show nicks or scratches, and avoids fingerprints. The keyboard is ‘pretty responsive’, the screen can hold up to 14 lines of text in some modes, and the battery life can be up to 3 days. Along with a host of more detail and many photos showing every single aspect of the handset, this is a great place to start for those thinking of getting themselves a 6220 Classic.

Is there anything you need further details of? Something about the handset that you’d like to know before making a decision? Head over and leave Eldar a comment.

Following yesterday’s post from Mark Guim on the we:offset app, the ripple has spread around the space and more voices are speaking out.

Steve Litchfield at All About Symbian thinks it is a ‘worthy’ release, yet can’t help but think it’s all come a bit too late. Tzer2 has commented, although she says that often the excuse for inaction is that no one else is doing anything, so why should you? Teo has also posted the Nokia press release at Symbian Freak, and the more people read the message, the more are likely to make use of this app to reduce – or at least offset – their carbon footprint.

Will you be downloading this app and working out exactly how much carbon you need to offset? Do you need any more details on it? Ask Steve, or join in the SF forum discussion.
